Join Little Falls, NY for Local Festivities at the 36th Annual Canal Celebration

The Little Falls, NY 36th Annual Canal Celebration will be held from August 7th through 13th, 2023. This festive tradition pays homage to the town’s history, heritage, and community. Festivities include family-oriented events and gatherings at our natural wonders, with local visitors and welcome tourists enjoying the bike trail, walking in the park, and fishing in the Mohawk River. The Rotary Park Marina offers beautiful scenery of the Erie Canal. The celebration’s primary sponsors are The Canal Celebration Committee, The City of Little Falls, and Mayor Mark Blask. Supporting sponsors include many local businesses and industries.

On Tuesday, August 8, join the Little Falls Polish Club at their Gulumki & Rummage Sale, starting at noon at 92 West Main Street. At 6pm, the town will hold its first ever Pooch Parade. Bring your dog to Rotary Park to enter into this adorable contest, or simply come to see the pooches, prizes, and music. Entry is $10 and crowd favorite vote is $1, with all proceeds going toward local animal rescue Pause 4 All Paws.

Fireworks at Little Falls, NY 36th Annual Canal Celebration

Wednesday, August 9 will see the Little Falls Public Library Annual Book Sale in Ward Square, from 9am to 8pm. The Gulumki & Rummage Sale will be held again from noon to close. The evening holds more festivities at Rotary Park on the Erie, with live music from Moss Back Mule Band at 6pm, and finger foods and American Legion hot dogs. The Rotary Club will hold their Duck Dash for Prizes at 7:30pm, followed by “Thunder on the River” fireworks after dark.

On Thursday, August 10, come to fish the Mohawk River at the “Big Kids” Adult Fishing Derby. Registration is on site from 3 to 4pm, with the derby starting at 4 and ending at 8pm at the Rotary Park/Canal Harbor, on 74 South Avenue. The entry fee is $5, and many different prizes will be awarded.

Flaunt your car at Mike’s Cruise-In DJ & Car Show from 5 to 8pm at the Rotary Park Marina, and stay for the music, food, and parade at 8pm. Join us again at the Annual Book Sale and the Gulumki & Rummage Sale, held at their usual times. The American Legion will sponsor karaoke from 7 to 10pm.

Friday, August 11th, join us again at the Annual Book Sale and the Gulumki & Rummage Sale, held at their usual times. From 5 to 7pm, the Holy Family Parish Ice Cream Social will be held on the corner of John and East Main Street.

Come see the 36th Annual Grand Parade at 6pm, along with REV-D at Rock Valley Brewing Co. at 56 West Mill Street from 6 to 9pm. At 7pm, the 3-on-3 Baseball Game will be held on Main Street for anyone ages 13 to 18. From 7 to 11pm, join the community for the Party on the Lawn at Elks Lodge on Ann Street, with The Posers performing live. The Wards Square Critical Path will be held from 7 to 9.

On Saturday, August 12th, from 8 to 11am, the 32nd Annual John Serow Memorial Youth Fishing Derby will be held for children 1-15 years with an adult companion. Entry fee is $2, and registration is on site at Lock 17 under the Wind Bridge.

From 8am to noon, come to the Little Falls Farmers Market on Albany & Ann Street, at the M & T Parking Lot. From 10:30am to 12:30pm, enjoy a 4-5 mile guided Southside Walking Tour VIIII. The Holy Family Parish Sneaker Collection will be held at the Parish Gym from 11am to 4:30pm. Practice your swinging at the Dr. Tony Piana Canal Celebration Rotary Club Golf Tournament at the Mohawk Valley Golf & Event Center. Join us again at the Annual Book Sale, the Gulumki & Rummage Sale, and the Annual Book Sale, held at their usual times.

Chicks Along the Canal at Little Falls, NY 36th Annual Canal Celebration

At Canal Place, enjoy food by Chicks Along the Canal, live music, and vendors. At Ward Square, visit the Eastern Park Expo from noon to 4pm. Enjoy the BarRoom Neon Project in concert at 2:30pm. Support Pause 4 All Paws at their 9th Annual Adopt-A-Pawlooza, with animals, crafts, and baked goods at Eastern Park. At Burke Park, enjoy food, beer, and music at Little Falls Elks Lodge from 7 to 11pm.

Sunday, August 13th, join the community at the town’s 35th Annual Antique & Classic Car Show, with registration beginning at 9am on site at Burke Park. Sales, food, and a DJ will be present, and trophies will be awarded to the first, second, and third-place winners.

Enjoy Chicken & Rib BBQ at the Lodge Open House in Burke Park, starting at 11am. Join the Little Falls Polish Club again at the Gulumki & Rummage Sale, held at the usual time. American Legion is sponsoring the Pine Mountain Band from 4 to 8pm at 100 West Main Street.
